Accessibility Statement

Effective: May 24, 2026

Draft notice: this statement reflects current practice and is a working draft pending counsel review.

Our commitment

Coastline Labs is committed to making coastlinelabs.co accessible to people with disabilities. We aim to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards and to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

What we've built

  • Keyboard navigation — every interactive element (links, buttons, form fields, cart controls) is reachable with the keyboard alone, and the current focus is always visible
  • Skip-to-content link appears as the first focusable element on every page so screen-reader and keyboard users can bypass the header navigation
  • Semantic HTML — proper heading hierarchy, landmarks (header / main / footer / aside / nav), and form labels associated with their inputs
  • ARIA labels on icon-only buttons (cart icon, quantity controls, menu toggle) so assistive technology can announce what they do
  • Alt text on product images describes the vial and brand
  • Color contrast — body text and UI text meet the 4.5:1 contrast ratio required by WCAG AA on light backgrounds, with larger headings meeting the 3:1 threshold
  • Responsive layout — content reflows cleanly from 320px through ultrawide and remains usable at 200% zoom
  • Tap targets on mobile (buttons, links, form controls) are at least 44×44 px

Known limitations

We're actively improving the site. Areas we're still working on:

  • Product images are decorative renders without long descriptions — we plan to add detailed alt text for screen readers
  • Some animations and transitions do not yet respect the prefers-reduced-motion setting; planned for a future update
  • Full WCAG 2.2 conformance audit has not yet been completed by a third party

Continuous improvement

Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time checkbox. We'll review and update this statement as the site evolves.
